Chapter 10: Clean Shaved

Dealing with these Shakers was somewhat difficult. First, they had a sense of morality, which, yes, I could deal with, as my parents were pretty loyal Lutherans when I was a kid and they put me in the various bible studies and such, so I got the idea; but, secondly, and more frustratingly, their relatives were abducted at the turn of the 20th century — and then transplanted to a planet where they could resume their simple lifestyle. But even by turn-of-the-century standards, the Shakers were a bit backwards, so they weren’t exactly early adopters of whatever new technologies Edison was inventing. I couldn’t make any cultural references with them that even people from the 1930s and beyond would know.

The dinner where they were to decide my fate was wholesome — standard turkey and potatoes. Though too bad their ancestors were never introduced to Italian cuisine; what I wouldn’t have done for a chicken parmesan dinner!

The Commander told the group: “I reiterate, that this proposed mission will not only take us off course by approximately three days, but also puts our craft in danger; as well, we really will have to stretch our remaining food and fuel to make up for the extra travel.”

“And say the Overlords on Rana 9 capture us? Will we be placed into servitude?” piped up Sister Henrietta, a homely woman of about 60 who surely would be put in Anything Goes, were that to happen.

But my allies rebutted them:

“The way I see it, a man has a right to fight for his wife, and that’s essentially what Mr. Lassiter is doing. Where he was, on Rana 9, would not allow marriage, but, in the eyes of God, he is as married as I am, and I support this mission,” said burly Brother Howard. “In fact, I’d like to accompany him, to watch his back.”

Sister Terry, his little wife, nodded.

“His plan is sound,” said Brother Phillip, the mechanic. “We have the tools available for him to break through the ceiling of his old room, as he said.”

“As for us being in danger, I don’t think we’d be detected coming in. I can fly in low and land within yards of where he needs. Takeoff won’t be a problem, even in a blizzard,” said Sister Carrie. “I would like to be at the helm.”

“Mr. Lassiter has certain health issues that would prevent him from thriving back home,” declared the doctor, Sister Gloria. “However, having his de facto ‘wife’ with him would better help him acclimate to our ways and customs.”

(I think she meant to say I’d fuck everything in sight on the Shakers’ planet, if I didn’t have my pretty Fluffer to relieve me.)

“We’d be saving a life,” broad-bodied Sister Angela said as her wimpy husband nodded. “Isn’t that what it’s all about?”

The room grew quiet, realizing that I had seven of the 15 votes so far, and then lovely, innocent Sister Jane stood up, still a little disheveled from our hardcore anal play moments before our arrival at dinner, and said with a soft voice: “Mr.
